I grew up spending summer holidays in this amazing place. When you are there far away from civilisation you can truly see nature at work and there is a calming feeling as you realise that you are just a tiny part of the mechanism that makes the world turn.
I saw this Gentleman at 5 in the morning roaming the beach with his camera and tripod like me. I hope when I reach his age that I will still be pursuing such things.
“TRANSFORMATION” is an exhibition of my latest series, opening at Customs House at Circular Quay on the 13th of Feb and will run until the 31st of March. The images have been displayed beautifully as Duratrans on light boxes. It certainly makes the work glow. Please head down there and take a look. I live on the beach at Bronte so every now and again like this morning I get out there for a sunrise and take a few photos. I just got a new camera, the Nikon D800e so I’m super keen to get out there and try it out. This scene is about 30 metres from my front door so it’s not a far stretch but I was up late watching the Tour de france. Luckily my 10 month old boy is a good alarm. He always seems to wake up half an hour before sunrise. Perfect timing.
