We stopped on the Tokyo Bay coast of Chiba as the sun set after visiting the nearby Buddhist mountain of Nokogiriyama.
Everybody always loves a sunset and the colours and clouds were exceptionally beautiful in a subtle way. I love to photograph clouds and would have hundreds of thousands of photos of these fluffy floating accumulations of water vapour. But I always take more.
At sunrise and sunset the way the different colours of light play on the clouds clearly illustrates how we live on a tiny planet in a in a gigantic universe governed by the sun and it’s ability to hold us in orbit whilst hurtling through space as we spin at a tremendous speed. The fact that earth has a system that can sustain life is incredibly beautiful and there is no time better to observe and savour this as at sunrise and sunset.
